Per Diem Echocardiography Technologist - Pediatrics/Garden City

Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned
Performs transthorachic echocardiograms, stress echo (both exercise and pharmacological) per department and management guidelines. Captures digital cardiac images and performs measurements correctly, recognizing pathology and/or customizes exam requiring contrast agent accordingly due to lack of image quality
Responds to stat calls accordingly. Reports life threatening pathology to attending Physician or Fellow
Responsible for the preparation of echocardiogram procedure including but not limited to equipment, supplies, instruments and appropriate paperwork
Participates in orientation of new employees as needed
Responsible for daily quality control of equipment and escalates issues as needed
Qualification
Required
Technical Diploma, Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program
Appropriate credential in echocardiography, from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) OR Registered Cardiac Congenital Sonographer (RCCS)
Current and valid BLS certification - Inpatient facility only
Strong communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, customer service, multitasking skills
Basic computer skills
Experience performing echocardiography with various manufacturer echo machines used in the Echo Lab
Required Licenses: Reg Cardiac Congntl Sonogrphr, Diagnostic Cardic Sonogrphr-Ct, Reg Cardiac Sonographer - Cert, Diag Med Sonographer-FetalEcho, Reg Vascular Technologist-Cert
Preferred
1-2 years Experience performing echocardiograms
Current and valid BLS certification - Outpatient facility only
