Hiring For Summer of 2026: Structural Restoration Engineer
Walker Consultants is an industry-leading engineering consulting firm looking for a Structural Restoration Engineer. The role involves investigating, analyzing, and solving structural and architectural deficiencies in various built structures while working closely with an interdisciplinary team to develop creative solutions.

Responsibilities
Perform condition assessments, investigations, field testing, and construction observations to gather field data, document existing conditions, and prepare field reports. You will have the opportunity to work on different types of structural systems, such as prestressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, or timber
Analyze field data and perform structural analysis via hand calculations or computer modeling to check as-built conditions or to perform strengthening design
Prepare technical reports for clients that summarize your field investigation, analysis, and recommendations
Work with a project team to prepare design documents, including project drawings and specifications
Assist in project coordination and meetings with internal team members
Review project submittals and shop drawings as part of construction administration services
Perform engineering site visits during construction to observe the implementation of your design
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or better in structural/civil/architectural engineering from ABET-accredited institution
Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient in using MS Office suite
Ability to work in the office and in the field, including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and riding on swing stages. This role may require occasional travel locally and outside the local area
Preferred
A Master's degree and/or work experience in evaluation and repair of existing structures
EIT status preferred, not required; employees are encouraged to seek professional licensure
Proficient knowledge and experience using Revit
Familiarity using finite element modeling software (SAP, ETABS, etc.)
