Responsibilities

Independently perform complex financial analyses to support program planning, execution, and reporting
Develop, track, and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models for assigned programs or projects
Analyze cost trends, financial performance metrics, and program risk to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
Prepare and present financial reports, variance analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership
Ensure compliance with internal policies, government regulations, and contractual requirements
May oversee and mentor junior financial staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with program managers, contract teams, and other stakeholders to ensure financial alignment with operational goals
Lead or support the preparation of cost proposals, pricing strategies, and business case justifications
Participate in audits, reviews, and other compliance activities as needed

Required

Proven ability to work independently on complex tasks and manage competing priorities
Strong proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, financial modeling software)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to synthesize financial data into clear, concise reports and presentations
Master's degree (MA/MS) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) certification
Minimum 5+ years direct experience with finance for an HQ level military entity
Experience working for or supporting the National Guard Bureau
At a minimum, a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or an equivalent or higher investigation

Preferred

Experience supporting Federal Government programs or working in a government contracting environment
Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other Federal financial management regulations
CPA, CFA, or other relevant financial certification
