Responsibilities
Responsible in launch gates to evaluate for buyoff and transfer of processes and equipment
Develop engineering department and individual goals supporting annual operation’s group goals
Develop risk mitigation plans – engage with key Android personnel and suppliers to proactively identify critical risks
Develop a high-performance culture with an emphasis on innovation, continuous improvement, operations excellence and team member safety
Manage engineering budget, staffing, facility preparation and relevant assets as appropriate
Support cross functional commodity teams to empower our engineers across the globe to continued improvement and common methods
Provide leadership manufacturing engineering functions including process and layout design, maintenance, system and controls, facilitate Kaizen activities, quality support, ergonomics and safety
Review maintenance objectives regularly ensuring performance to targets and improvement
Ensure gage maintenance and calibrations are completed along with other requirements
Ensure the Engineering Change process is followed. Provide the discipline to use the process to plan and prepare for changes
Develop the leading indicators for each process to be monitored proactively
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering
10+ years of Automotive Manufacturing experience or related field
5+ years of experience in engineering technical leadership
High degree of organization skills in a highly complex environment
Technically competent in a wide variety of engineering areas
Team work and leading teams to a common goal that is achieved
Able to ask for help from valuable other facilities and headquarters resources
Practical experience leading engineering systems and tasks (APQP, PFMEA, plant layout, tooling & equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, etc.)
Proven leadership skills and experience mentoring and developing staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills and expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Tact, a sense of urgency, and an overall customer satisfaction focus
