ECCO is a family-owned company with a multicultural workplace, seeking a People & Culture Intern to support their Retail organization. The intern will assist with various HR functions including recruitment, employee services, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

Assist with the recruitment process, including resume searching, reviewing, and interview scheduling
Support the hiring process by preparing offer letters, job descriptions, and welcome letters
Schedule and coordinate exit interviews
Create, maintain, and audit personnel records as necessary
Organize and distribute benefit packages
Assist with HR administration and reporting, including unemployment claims, verifications of employment, and EEO reporting
Facilitate archiving of HR files and maintain inventory lists
Help organize special employee events such as holiday parties and company meetings
Support employee recognition efforts, including service awards, weddings, birth announcements, and retirements
Conduct research for HR-related special projects
Perform general clerical duties such as typing, filing, and faxing
Take on other duties as assigned
Ensure timely and accurate handling of benefit-related invoices
Manage and track purchase orders in alignment with company policies
Support unemployment claims processing and assist in organizing employee training initiatives
Maintain and track sensitive documentation with a strong focus on confidentiality and compliance
Gain hands-on experience with core HR functions and contribute to process improvements
Collaborate on updates and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the employee handbook
Perform regular scanning and filing of documents to maintain organized and accessible records
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and reviewing necessary documentation
Maintain accurate employee records, including PI, CARTA, and other essential documentation
Assist with recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews and coordinating candidate communications
Operate with full access to HR systems and documentation for both U.S. and Canadian teams

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent
2+ years of experience in a customer service, administrative support or HR assistant role
Exceptional professionalism (communications, interactions, appearance)
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally (verbal and written)
Ability to prioritize work and adjust priorities as needed
Superior organization and follow-up skills
Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and maintain appropriate response times
Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
Exhibits a service-mindset in all interactions with internal and external contacts
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
Ability to quickly learn and proficiently work within multiple systems
Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level
Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestic and international
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. to waist-height on an occasional basis
