The Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) will support the design and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring reliability and safety in mission-critical operations while working closely with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities
Participate in design meetings for electrical systems in new data center builds and expansions, providing input from an electrical engineering perspective under supervision
Assist in conducting feasibility studies and developing specifications for system components
Support the design and construction process, including permitting, under the guidance of licensed engineers
Support the installation of power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, cooling units, and other critical infrastructure
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier Standards), safety regulations, and company policies, with oversight from senior engineers
Assist in managing maintenance schedules to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently
Contribute to troubleshooting power issues, helping to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability
Support analysis and forecasting of power needs based on current and projected IT loads
Assist in implementing strategies for energy efficiency and cost reduction
Work closely with senior engineers and team members, seeking guidance and contributing to team efforts
Participate in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team
Support project management for infrastructure projects, from conception through commissioning, under supervision
Assist in coordinating with external vendors, contractors, and internal departments to meet project timelines
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations concerning electrical systems, under supervision
Promote a safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
2-4 years of relevant experience in data center operations or electrical engineering
Basic knowledge of data center electrical systems (transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems)
Proficient with tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SKM
Interest in project management and supporting large-scale data center projects
