Responsibilities

Support the team to advance state-of-the-art wireless technology, including generating patents
Participate in standard bodies and OSS community to make technical contributions
Investigate new research areas to realize Sony vision
Collaborate with our global teams in the world to reach an optimal outcome

Required

Ph.D. degree, or Master's degree with 3 years of experience, in electrical/communication engineering or in Computer Science
Excellent wireless communication background including system or link level aspects
Experience in wireless LAN systems, cellular systems, sensor network technologies, distributed networking technologies, or wireless PAN systems
A good knowledge of wireless LAN protocol. Experience on wireless LAN (IEEE802.11) MAC/PHY layers protocol design and/or analysis is preferred
Essential programming language knowledge, such as Matlab, C/C++, and Python, is required
Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to propose new features, drive consensus, and capture the results in writing in the form of designs, models, and requirements
Flexibility and adaptability to work and collaborate with researchers in global locations, internally and externally

Preferred

Experience in WLAN standard (802.11ac/ax/be/bn, etc.) development or 3GPP is preferred
Experience in link level or system level simulation (e.g, ns-3) is preferred
Experience in cross-layer system design is preferred
