Marketing Manager -Japanese Bilingual
Pasona N A, Inc. is a Japanese entertainment company seeking a Marketing Manager who is bilingual in Japanese and English. The role involves leading a regional marketing team, developing marketing strategies, and collaborating with global teams to enhance brand awareness and engagement.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a regional marketing team, including functions such as publicity and social media
Create and implement regional marketing strategies to drive traffic, grow brand awareness, and engage communities through social media, fan events, and paid media
Align global objectives with impactful regional initiatives, ensuring cohesive branding and efficient asset creation while promoting innovation
Set long-term regional goals and prioritize initiatives in collaboration with global marketing teams
Oversee regional IP initiatives, marketing campaigns, and cross-business efforts to drive conversation and earned media reach
Manage regional marketing budgets to optimize ROI
Collaborate with executive leadership on regional publicity efforts and lead event strategy, including premieres and fan events, ensuring strong presence and satisfaction with Japanese content partners
Oversee all marketing programs involving high-profile brands such as Crunchyroll, Hulu/Disney+, Amazon, and Netflix
Monitor and evaluate distribution partners’ marketing performance and identify areas for efficiency and improvement
Manage brand campaigns, including campaign/asset planning and production—timelines, deliverables, resources, and requests
Coordinate with Japan-based production teams for special content and promotional needs
Use data to inform best practices, streamlining operational workflows
Develop and execute social media strategies to grow followers and engagement across platforms
Maintain a content calendar for all social channels, collaborating with internal teams to generate user acquisition–driven content
Work with cross-functional teams (content, brand, planning, engagement, licensing) to develop and maintain editorial and promotional calendars
Manage the official YouTube channel for both monetization and promotional strategy
Support special projects as requested
Qualification
Required
Must be bilingual in Japanese/English. (Speak/Read/Write)
Fluent in Japanese and English
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing
5+ years of experience in digital marketing (experience in SEM, SEO, or paid social is a plus)
Knowledge of VOD licensing, industry windowing, and holdbacks
Experience in media industry and post-production workflows
Strong analytical and results-driven mindset, with the ability to tell compelling stories using campaign data
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar design/video editing tools
Proven marketing experience with YouTube and major social media platforms
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
Solid graphic design and video editing capabilities
Highly attuned to pop culture and current trends
Experienced in managing, mentoring, and developing cross-functional marketing teams
Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high intellectual curiosity
Solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Agile and goal-driven, with a strong desire to take on challenges
Preferred
Deep knowledge of and passion for anime and manga is a strong plus
Expertise in social analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Slack, and Adobe Photoshop
Passionate and curious about all aspects of entertainment and brand marketing
Naturally communicative and able to distill complex concepts into simple messaging
Enthusiastic about anime and its global cultural impact
