Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager

TRC Companies, Inc. is a leader in providing innovative engineering solutions and is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager for their Richmond, VA office. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of geotechnical projects, including highways and bridges, and will assist with client development, proposal preparation, and the execution of geotechnical investigations and designs.

Responsibilities

Typical tasks will include assisting with Client development, proposal preparation, the planning and execution of exploration, analysis, design, reporting, and preparation of specifications for geotechnical projects
Specialized experience regarding site investigation programs, design and in-situ testing of shallow and deep foundations, soil and rock slope stability evaluations, design of retaining walls and reinforced soil slopes, and settlement/expansive soil evaluation and mitigation measures is key
Training will be provided for all aspects of the job responsibilities

Geotechnical EngineeringPE LicenseSite InvestigationFoundation DesignAutoCADMicrostationLeadership SkillsCommunication Skills

Required

Motivated self-starter with demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with various technical disciplines in a team setting
BSCE required
PE license or ability to obtain within 6 to 12 months

Preferred

MSCE in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
Experience in both public and private sector work a plus
Department of Transportation experience a plus
8+ years geotechnical engineering experience preferred
AutoCad or Microstation experience is helpful but not required
