Responsibilities

Lead architectural and multi-disciplinary investigations and repair designs of existing structures
Develop clients and pursue opportunities for new work. Represent WSP in the local marketplace and nationally
Assist with project research, analysis, and design calculations
Prepare reports, design documents (drawings and specifications), cost estimates, and presentations
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
Perform on-site documentation and construction observations
Review fenestration, vertical facade, roofing systems, and waterproofing
Provide building enclosure commissioning and consulting services
Assist project teams with completing building enclosure design reviews
Assist with conducting functional performance testing of enclosure systems
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required

Registered Architect
Ten years (minimum) of relevant post education experience with prior building preservation, enclosures evaluation/design, and sustainability experience
Experienced with building materials and construction processes for design, construction, and/or repair of building enclosures, façades, waterproofing, cladding systems, roofs, parking structures, etc
Knowledgeable of building codes, planning, design, façade, and construction management involving commercial, industrial, and historic buildings; including renovation and new design projects
Proficient using AutoCAD, Revit, and other technical software
Established clients and connections within the A/E community including building code officials, professional organizations, product manufacturers, etc
Knowledge of third-party green building rating systems (LEED, Passive House, LBC, WELL, or related)
Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional/intermittent travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Ability to perform field work and to work at heights

Preferred

Licensed in multiple states, preferably in the southeast United States
National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certificate holder
Active member of or interest in becoming a member of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC)
IIBEC Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), and Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC), and/or Registered Building Enclosure Consultant (RBEC)
Experience with WUFI, THERM, and energy modeling software
