As a Backend Engineer, you will contribute to building and scaling an enterprise data migration platform, working on secure authentication systems and data extraction workflows.

Responsibilities
Build reliable, well-tested backend features with guidance from senior engineers
Take ownership of smaller features and contribute to larger initiatives
Learn to identify and proactively address potential issues
Demonstrate pride in code quality and user experience
Contribute to scalable, secure APIs that power our platform-specific SDKs
Work on networking features including request handling and basic proxy functionality
Build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure components on GCP, AWS, or similar platforms
Support authentication protocol implementation and security features
Develop integrations with third-party services and APIs
Write comprehensive tests and documentation for your code
Work closely with senior engineers to understand system architecture and best practices
Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver cohesive features
Participate in code reviews and learn from feedback
Support customer integration efforts under guidance
Qualification
Required
2-5 years of backend engineering experience
Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js for backend development
Experience building REST APIs and understanding of API design principles
Basic knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL
Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
Understanding of Docker and containerization
Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
Knowledge of web security fundamentals
GraphQL experience is a plus
CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions is a plus
Basic understanding of networking concepts (HTTP, TCP) is a plus
Builder mentality with examples of personal projects or contributions to larger systems
Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced startup environment
Self-motivated with ability to work independently when given clear direction
Good communication skills and openness to feedback
Attention to detail and commitment to writing clean, maintainable code
Collaborative mindset and willingness to help teammates
Preferred
Experience with data engineering or ETL pipelines
Previous startup experience
Open source contributions
Experience with monitoring and observability tools
Knowledge of authentication protocols and security best practices
