Responsibilities
In alignment with the corporate compliance team, develop and champion the group’s government compliance strategy, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the evolving regulatory landscape
Serve as the group’s primary point of authority and expert on all government compliance matters, including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, and other relevant government regulations
Oversee the Group’s development, implementation, and maintenance of robust internal controls and processes to ensure compliance with all government requirements
Lead and manage the government compliance team for the Aerospace Group, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with relevant government agencies, including the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of State, Department of Commerce, and others as necessary
Liaise with the corporate compliance team to manage and oversee government audits, investigations, and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses and corrective actions
Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs for employees at all levels of the organization
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies
Monitor changes in government regulations and proactively update company policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance
Advise senior leadership team on potential compliance risks and the impact of regulatory changes on business operations
Ensure that third-party partners and suppliers adhere to applicable government compliance requirements through due diligence and flow-down clauses
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in government compliance, with a significant portion in the aerospace or defense industry
Demonstrated expertise in ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFARS, CMMC, and NIST standards
Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance programs in a complex, matrix driven organizational environment
Strong understanding of government contracting processes and requirements
Experience interacting with government agencies on compliance matters
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to strategically analyze complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business processes
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
High level of integrity and ethical conduct
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred
Juris Doctor (JD) or Master's degree in a relevant field
Experience with international government compliance regulations
Certification in a relevant compliance area (e.g., CCEP-F, CMMC Provisional Assessor)
Experience managing large-scale government compliance projects or initiatives
