Responsibilities

Manage and/or perform environmental compliance tasks, including SPCC plans; storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and permitting; NPDES/TPDES and RCRA compliance, permit applications and renewals; toxic chemical usage/processing reporting; and hazardous waste related projects
Oversee preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications, including cost estimates and project budgets
Develop proposals resulting in the award of new work with clients and provide financial management of projects resulting in profitable work
Manage large and complex tasks and provide technical leadership to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality
Build and strengthen team and staff through engagement and mentorship
Work with design engineers to develop and review construction documents (drawings, specifications, and cost estimates) and provide bid assistance (preparing bid sheets and reviewing contractor bids)
Complete engineering calculations (e., for process design of treatment systems, and storm and sanitary sewer design)
Prepare regulatory applicability assessments, permit applications, and negotiate proposed permits
Oversee field work activities including planning work, developing work plans, and coordinating with subcontractors and clients
Conduct treatability studies and investigations for treatment process feasibility studies and design
Conduct wastewater characterization studies in support of treatment evaluations or permitting
Interpret data, conducting analyses, comparing findings to regulations to ensure compliance with permits and regulations
Communicate with clients and coordinate with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients
Prepare summary reports, technical memoranda and email correspondence
Serve as Engineer of Record for projects
Implement TRC's safety, quality, and project management programs

Required

Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting
Bachelor's degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited university
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Texas preferable or ability to obtain reciprocity
Knowledge of environmental regulations (SPCC, SWPPP, MS4, NPDES/TPDES, TRRP, TCEQ, RRC, NMED/OCD, OKDEQ, RCRA, etc.)
Experience with storm water calculations, design, and permitting
Familiarity or experience with federal, state, and municipal wastewater discharge and construction regulations
Understanding of biological and physical/chemical wastewater treatment, including water chemistry
Experience in industrial settings, whether manufacturing, power plants, or municipal wastewater treatment
Demonstrable wastewater treatment process design
Strong technical writing skills
Working knowledge of health and safety practices
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen and OSHA physical

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering
OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification
