Responsibilities
Review and audit structural inspection reports and QC documentation for completeness and accuracy
Conduct witness inspections of contractor repair work—concrete patching, steel repairs, grouting—to verify compliance with drawings and specifications
Maintain and update QC checklists, punch-lists, and NCR (non-conformance report) logs in WMATA’s document-control system
Coordinate re-inspections where work does not meet acceptance criteria and track corrective-action closure
Prepare QC summary reports and present findings to WMATA’s Track & Structures leadership
Mentor field inspectors on QC best practices and standardized reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering
5+ years' experience in structural-inspection quality control on transit or heavy-civil projects
Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, ASTM, and WMATA structural standards
Strong report-writing skills and proficiency with QC documentation systems
Excellent observational abilities and ability to enforce corrective measures
