Lead Consultant, Electrical Engineering
WSP is a global leader in engineering services, currently seeking a Lead Consultant, Electrical Engineer for their New York City team. The role involves participating in the full project cycle of electrical infrastructure projects, coordinating design activities, and mentoring younger engineers.

Responsibilities
Work within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners
Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members
Design of electric distribution systems
Design of fire alarm systems
Design of lighting and lighting control systems
Scheduling and selecting of electrical components and equipment
Perform electrical load, short circuit and voltage drop calculations
Construction administration
Involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of electrical infrastructure project
Attend client and other stakeholder meetings. Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner
Supervise and mentor younger engineers
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
7+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale
Engineer license required preferred
Extensive knowledge of building electrical infrastructure design
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Knowledge of Revit. and AutoCAD
Knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, energy codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
Interest in innovative design, specifically in renewable energies and sustainable, high performing buildings
Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Preferred
New Construction and High Rise Building Design (Mix-use, Residential and Office)
PE License or LEED AP certification is a plus
Knowledge of AGI32 and SKM is a plus
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired
