Senior Vice President, Product Design

The Senior Vice President – Product Design Lead will lead the implementation of visual styles, improve user experience through feedback, and mentor junior designers while advocating for user experience across the firm.

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of visual styles that support platform branding to increase user effectiveness
Interpret user feedback and insights to improve the user experience
Serve as reviewer of usability activities and artifacts to ensure software applications meet customer expectations for use
Provide UX expertise to the product definition and evaluation process utilizing multiple sources of information (field work, interviews, internet, intranet, market data/literature)
Independently perform and lead the creation and updating of user interface and visual design guidelines and standards
Advocate the user experience across the firm and facilitate training for groups outside the UX team
Ensure that the developed/revised product achieves the user's specified goals by establishing user-centered analysis, design, best practices, and standards
Mentor and train junior designers, organize team processes, and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
Provide guidance and technical expertise for complex user experience activities including user research, testing, interactive design, and visual design

Required

Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
10-12 years of experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
Strong communication skills with the ability to understand others' point of view and provide constructive design feedback
Ability to synthesize situations and information across multiple factors and apply company policies and procedures in resolving issues
Highly independent, needing little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments
