Responsibilities
Be a part of a team of engineers that manages Waabi’s data lifecycle from vehicle offload through consumption
Own the tools, pipelines, services and platform that compose Waabi’s cloud storage and data management infrastructure
Build and maintain libraries for performant data access
Collaborate with other teams at Waabi, including research scientists, ML and software engineers, system engineers and program managers to understand their uses and deliver features that improve our overall data ecosystem
Track data usage and design retention polices to manage a rapidly and continuously growing amount of data
Participate in the growth and planning for how our data platform scales over the next years
Assist in roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery
Qualification
Required
5+ years of industry experience reading and developing production quality software
MS/PhD or Bachelors degree with a Computer Science, Robotics and/or similar technical field(s) of study
Experience using languages such as Python, Go, or Rust
Experience working in a team environment on a common codebase
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Open-minded and collaborative team player with willingness to help others
Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions
Preferred
Experience working with robotics / AV data
Experience working with the MCAP format
Experience with AWS (S3, ECS, Batch, etc.)
Comfortable with Linux
Comfortable with Docker
Familiarity with microservice architectures
Familiarity with workflow management technology (ex. Airflow)
Comfortable working across a wide surface area of systems
