IT Leadership - Director of Enterprise Infrastructure
JK Executive Strategies is partnering with a respected college in the Cleveland area to hire a Director of Enterprise Infrastructure. This role involves leading a modernization effort and overseeing infrastructure across cloud services, enterprise platforms, networking, and identity management.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure Strategy: Shape and execute a long-term roadmap that supports academic, administrative, and research needs. Partner with the CIO to drive modernization and communicate progress across the institution
Cloud & Platform Leadership: Lead cloud-first initiatives spanning Azure, AWS, and on-prem environments. Oversee the integration and optimization of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure AD, and Okta to create a cohesive, secure ecosystem
Systems & Network Oversight: Direct enterprise systems including VMware, Windows/Linux servers, storage platforms, and disaster recovery environments. Ensure strong performance of wired/wireless networks, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking
Security & Compliance: Work closely with Information Security to maintain compliance with GLBA, FERPA, and NIST. Strengthen identity management, access controls, and data protection while advancing the institution’s resilience strategy
Project Execution: Lead complex infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and cross-platform integrations. Use structured project methodologies to manage scope, timelines, risk, and documentation
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor network engineers, system administrators, and cloud specialists. Foster a service-focused culture and support growth through training and certifications
Budget & Vendor Management: Oversee a $2M+ annual budget, manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure strong value, uptime, and performance across all infrastructure services
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
7+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise infrastructure
Strong background in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure, AWS, Okta, and modern identity management
Experience running large, complex projects and managing hybrid cloud environments
Solid understanding of networking, systems, regulatory standards, and security best practices
Clear communication skills and a steady, collaborative leadership style
Preferred
