The successful candidate will teach and develop courses in mechanical engineering, focusing on control systems, and contribute to the growth of the cooperative mechanical engineering program with Missouri State University.

Responsibilities
Teach, organize and execute laboratory and lecture-based instruction in mechanical engineering with a focus on control systems
Sustain and contribute to development and growth of the cooperative mechanical engineering program through innovations in teaching and relevant service
Develop effective learning materials, improved teaching techniques, and state-of-the-art delivery systems
Laboratory supervisor responsibilities, design team advising, academic advising, curriculum development, and program assessment
Qualification
Required
A Ph.D. in mechanical engineering (or a closely related field) and an ABET/EAC accredited undergraduate degree in engineering, or equivalent, is required for this position
Successful prior teaching experience will be an important consideration
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Leadership capabilities
The ability to motivate and inspire students
Preferred
Broad teaching strength in other fundamental areas of mechanical engineering is desirable
Industrial experience is also desirable
Professional Engineering licensure is considered a positive for the applicant, although not required
