Responsibilities

Lead and execute testing strategies for energetic materials, ensuring adherence to OP-5: Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore or equivalent safety standards
Manage day-to-day testing operations, laboratory equipment, and personnel with a focus on operational safety, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency
Perform in-depth testing and analysis of energetic systems, chemicals, and formulations to validate performance, quality, and safety
Apply expert knowledge of maintenance techniques and testing procedures relevant to energetic systems and materials
Review and contribute to technical documentation, including technical data packages, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality production documents, and process documentation
Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices for the handling and testing of energetic materials
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support development, testing, and troubleshooting initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or related field)
15+ years of experience in engineering testing of energetic materials
Working knowledge of OP-5 or equivalent ammunition and explosives safety regulations
Strong understanding of various testing methodologies and maintenance practices for energetics systems and formulations
In-depth knowledge of regulatory and safety standards applicable to energetics testing, development, and manufacturing
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
