The Registered Radiology Tech will perform radiographic examinations, maintain accuracy in positioning and exposure, and assist the radiologist during intricate procedures while ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities
Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information pertinent to the examination being performed, including correct patient identification and order verification
Assess patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure
Performs pre and post exam patient education pertinent to exam being performed
Produces images according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, at patients’ bedside, ER, and surgery with a high degree of accuracy
Demonstrates good radiation safety practices during radiographic examinations to include use of lead shields, collimation, and determining pregnancy status of women of childbearing years
Prepares for and assists Physicians with intricate radiographic examinations
Ensures examinations are performed, completed, and ready for physician interpretation
Attends and participates in department staff meetings and in-services
Takes an active role in gaining and maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems needed in performance of job responsibilities
Instructs Radiologic Technology students in radiographic positioning, technique, and film critique
Presents a positive image of the hospital and department
Assists in quality improvement programs in the department
Maintains appropriate credentials and certifications related to clinical performance and ensures a current copy is on file with the appropriate department
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduate of JRC approved program in Radiologic Technology
One-year experience as a general radiographer
Registered with ARRT, KY Radiation Operators Certification
CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
