Responsibilities

Develop scoping documentation and Main Connections & Protection Diagrams

Review Protection & Control Designs developed by third parties

Specify P&C related equipment and plant such as relays, CTs, and VTs

Produce detailed designs including AC/DC schematics

Conduct protection grading studies, produce relay files and settings

Review Commissioning Plans and attend Commissioning Panel meetings

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field

Experience working on Distribution Networks as a Senior/Principal Protection & Control Design Engineer

Knowledge and experience with protection relays and relay panels, CT & VT sizing calculations, protection grading studies, and producing detailed AC/DC drawings

Familiarity with UK electrical practices and standards and an understanding/appreciation of CDM regulations

High regard for safety with demonstrable experience in risk mitigation

Experience working with National Grid processes
