Responsibilities
Conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis
Performing boring layout for utility clearance
Supervising drill rigs
Classifying soils
Logging borings, test pits, and cores
Performing floor level surveys
Performing testing and observation services
Reviewing plans and specifications
Preparing geotechnical reports and letters
Assignment and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations
Calculations pertaining to slope stability analysis
Calculations pertaining to liquefaction
Calculations pertaining to dynamic settlement
Calculations pertaining to pile design
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering
2+ years of experience, preferably with a geotechnical consulting firm performing duties described above
Thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude
Good organizational skills
Strong work ethic
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
