Electrical Test Technician

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain test loops, including the selection, installation, and wiring of instrumentation and control components such as sensors, actuators, valves, and controllers
Interpreting P&IDs and electrical schematics to accurately connect devices
Selecting and installing appropriate wiring, connectors, and cabling for various signals and environments
Ensuring proper grounding and shielding to minimize noise and interference
Configure and calibrate a wide range of instrumentation and control devices, including pressure sensors, flow meters, temperature transmitters, and control valves
Set up and operate data acquisition systems to collect and analyze test data from various sensors and instruments
Selecting appropriate sampling rates and data logging parameters
Using software tools to visualize and analyze data, identify trends, and generate reports
Diagnose and resolve issues related to instrumentation, control systems, and electrical circuits within the test loop
Work closely with engineers to define test parameters, execute test plans, and analyze results
Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Accurately document test setups, procedures, and results

Required

Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent technical certification
5+ years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Test Technician, with a strong emphasis on building and operating test loops in a product development or industrial environment
Demonstrated expertise in wiring and configuring instrumentation and control systems
Solid understanding of electrical principles, including AC/DC circuits, signal transmission, and grounding techniques
Proficiency in using various electrical test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
Experience with data acquisition systems and analysis software
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

Familiarity with industrial automation systems (PLCs, DCS) is a plus
