Astrion is a company that supports the US Navy and Missile Defense Agency by performing trade studies and design prototyping. They are seeking an experienced IR Seeker Engineer to develop a digital representation of the IR seeker for simulations to government customers and end-users.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, supporting a team of engineers and software developers to design and develop simulation solutions, and demonstrating that capability to our government customers and other critical stakeholders

Identifying and evaluating critical design points, such as seeker windows, lenses, filters, and focal plane array design, and relating these to physical design of the seeker

Designing and documenting the IR sensor concept of operations, including the modes of operation and their corresponding timelines, the operating wavebands, and scan patterns

Implementing signal processing algorithms, including detection, track, discrimination, and decision logic

Required

Candidates must possess at least a bachelor of science (BS) degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics

Candidates must have at least 6 years of experience (4 years with a Masters, 2 years with a PhD) related to the design or analysis of electromagnetic sensors

Strong Matlab or Python skills

Strong people skills and technical leadership experience are a must

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to learn rapidly and work independently and on a team

Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and hold a clearance
