Managing Engineer - Thermal Sciences (Ph.D./M.S.)
Exponent is a premium engineering and scientific consulting firm dedicated to solving unique challenges through multidisciplinary expertise. They are seeking a Managing Engineer with expertise in fire investigation and failure analysis to support consulting projects and lead new initiatives in their Thermal Sciences Practice.

Responsibilities
Conducting failure analysis investigations
Evaluating compliance with codes and standards
Performing engineering calculations and analysis
Planning and executing testing programs
Preparing written reports, proposals, and presentations
Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
Project management
Domestic and possibly international travel for field work
Qualification
Required
M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering, with a practical and theoretical understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
Professional engineering (PE) license, or willingness to obtain a PE
A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in the area of fire investigation and failure analysis
Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
Excellent hands-on skills with experience performing field work
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, the legal profession, business, and industry
