Cytotechnologist

Operates the telecytology microscope in conjunction with pathologists
Screens and interprets Gyn, non-Gyn and FNA slides
Assists in offsite FNA coverage
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Diploma Accredited Cytotechnology program
Cytotechnologist License - NYS
ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology) Certification
3 - 5 years Experience in cytology
1 - 2 years Experience in performing fine needle aspiration adequacy assessment
Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization and leadership skills
Technical skills related to the laboratory discipline
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree Major consistent with NYS Department of Education Cytotechnologist requirements
ThinPrep and SurePath Certification
