As a Senior SQL Developer, you will be responsible for architecting and building data solutions that operate on terabytes of data, supporting the internal processes of the company and processing over a billion dollars of revenue per year.

Responsibilities

Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software

Drive the design of highly performant and highly available data solutions

Build solutions that operate on massive amounts of data in high-transaction-volume applications

Tune database performance using tools like SQL Profiler, Execution Plans

Create and maintain Power BI dashboards

Maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and best practices

Work with QA resources to ensure that the software delivered is of the highest quality

Act as a key member of the product launch team and work closely with DevOps to resolve operational issues

Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices

Required

Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college

A track record of commitment to prior employers

4+ years of SQL database development experience

Demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products that leverage terabytes of data

Database design, T-SQL programming, performance tuning, index analysis

Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and optimize queries

Define database architecture and development best practices

Experience with version control systems (e.g., TFS)

Preferred

Experienced in database performance testing and SQL code unit testing strategies and implementations

Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., ElasticSearch)

Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI)

Scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation

Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS)

Comfortable facilitating discussions among database developers to exchange ideas and introduce new database technologies

Strong communication skills (with the business and technical partners)
