They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power Distribution Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of power systems critical to their tunneling projects.

Responsibilities
Develop single-line diagrams (SLD) and schematics
Design layouts for high voltage and medium-voltage equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, busbars, and switches
Perform calculations for voltage regulation, short circuits, and load flow
Create physical arrangements and layouts of substation equipment, grounding, lighting, and conduit plans ensuring designs meet safety standards including arc flash studies
Design protection systems, including relay settings, wiring diagrams, interconnection schemes, SCADA and communication systems
Use CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation, perform simulations in software like ETAP, PSCAD, CYME
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
6+yrs experience of electrical engineering principles
3+yrs experience in substation design tools and simulation software
Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex substation projects
Experience in all phases of substation design; conceptual, detailed, construction and commissioning
Advanced knowledge of medium-voltage (MV) systems (e.g., 13.2 kV, 25 kV) and step-down transformer design to support heavy equipment loads
Preferred
Experience working on modular substation solutions or portable substation projects
Portable or modular substation solutions for dynamic construction sites
Expertise in designing for load transients associated with TBM operation (e.g., during startup and shutdown)
Ability to design substations to handle dynamic loads with high reliability and minimal downtime
