Responsibilities
Document complex technical processes and procedures related to IT operations and systems
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, technical manuals, and user guides
Collaborate closely with IT professionals, engineers, and SMEs to gather accurate and up-to-date information
Translate technical jargon into clear, accessible content for both technical and non-technical users
Ensure documentation follows established standards and is structured for usability and consistency
Continuously review and update existing documentation in alignment with process changes
Apply ITIL framework principles to align documentation with service management best practices
Maintain version control and document repositories to ensure traceability and accessibility
Qualification
Required
Active Secret Clearance
ITIL Foundations Certification
3+ years of professional technical writing experience
Demonstrated experience documenting IT processes, systems, or workflows
Strong process orientation and ability to define and articulate procedures clearly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical teams
Preferred
Prior hands-on IT experience or background in IT support, administration, or infrastructure
Familiarity with technical environments including networking, cybersecurity, or systems management
Experience supporting documentation in government or DoD environments
