The role involves supporting projects related to subdivision, land development, and stormwater management, along with community planning and construction observation.

Responsibilities
Municipal engineering work, including subdivision, land development, and stormwater management plan preparation and review, construction observation and fieldwork, and community planning
Design work may include street, curb, and sidewalk reconstruction plans, stormwater management plans, municipal building sites, and park and recreation plans
Grant applications, plans, and funding research
Performs moderate design tasks including computations and analysis
Prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents; assists with preparation of other engineering deliverables
Performs research and field investigations, collects data, and gathers information or documents
Develops and/or assists with tasks such as field activities including construction activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing
Ability to effectively present projects to clients and regulatory authorities
Consults project team about regulations impacting projects; performs regulation research as needed
Works as part of a team and coordinates work with others
Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements
Follows tasks through a series of related detailed steps or processes
Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope
Uses standard programs to complete project and administrative deliverables
Receives instruction on specific objectives
Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions
Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment
Attains mentored experience from senior technical staff and/or a licensed engineer, typically in their specialty
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates assertiveness and cooperation in managing conflicts
Interacts with internal and external project team members
Assists with official communication about specific assignments/meetings
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil Engineering
EIT required
Minimum three years of general municipal engineering experience
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and understand municipal ordinances and regulations
Ability to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary
Preferred
AutoCAD Civil 3D & ArcGIS experience a plus
