Provides written and oral legal advice to clients
Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization
Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel
Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Member in Good Standing of State Bar
High School Grad / GED
Juris Doctorate
Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 5+ years
Strong academic background
At least 5 years of experience in a top law firm, corporate legal department or financial institution related to the energy and utility industries
Experience drafting and negotiating power transactions, engineering & construction and procurement work, operations and maintenance work, acquisitions and dispositions of energy infrastructure assets
Experience representing electric utilities and independent power producers
Familiarity with electric utility regulation
