Responsibilities

Prepare & reconcile monthly journal entries, general ledgers and financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP or relevant reporting standards
Reconcile management P&L to the General Ledger; collaborate with colleagues in financial operations to obtain data and substantiate variances; report variances to management on a monthly basis
Gain an understanding of the underlying business activity and conceptualize the flow of data from trade to financial statement
Interface with external auditors, regulators and other internal departments as needed
Prepare analytical procedures on underlying data and provide explanation for variances
After a period of development within the department, be responsible for conducting comprehensive entity reviews and ensuring their accuracy and regulatory compliance

Required

Minimum of 3 years of corporate and/or public accounting experience, including preparation of financial statements, required
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business required
Keen attention to detail with strong project management and organizational skills
Driven and articulate with strong interpersonal skills. The candidate needs to be a “team player” and able to work successfully with various functions across the organization
Strong verbal and written communicator with great people skills
Able to produce timely and accurate records; appreciates the importance of supporting work paper documentation and schedules
Desire to grow in a role and take on more responsibility over time
Self-starter who can work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a proven record of meeting or exceeding deadlines
Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position now or in the future

Preferred

Previous experience in the broker-dealer/financial services industry
CPA certification preferred
Experience with VBA, SQL, and Python preferred
