CT Tech - Weekend Incentive Program - Radiology CT - Weekend Days
VCU Health is a healthcare organization looking for a CT Technologist to join their team. The role involves performing CT procedures, ensuring patient safety, and assisting with interventional procedures while maintaining high standards of care and documentation. The CT Technologist will also engage in continuing education and quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities
Perform CT procedures utilizing CT scanners and power injectors producing cross sectional and 3D images
Assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures and perform complex imaging reformatting
Recognize patient conditions, assess and monitor patient vital signs, and take appropriate actions in emergency situations
Prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state law as well as institutional policy
Engage in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge, and technical competence
Document pertinent exam information in the medical record and maintain archival storage of imaging exams and associated documents
Corroborate patient’s clinical history with the ordered procedure while ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner (LIP)
Verify informed consent and assume responsibility for patient needs before, during, and after procedures
Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others
Perform venipuncture per procedural protocol based on imaging order from a licensed independent practitioner
Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded
Identify and escalate emergency situations and manage until appropriate LIP, EMS, MERT, RRT, or Code Team arrives to assume control
Provide patient education related to imaging procedure and educate, mentor, and oversee students and other learners in the Radiology environment
Qualification
Required
Registry by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R) or by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARRT-CT
Current Certification by ARRT or NMTCB and ARRT-CT Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
1-3 years of previous CT Technologist work experience
Graduation from a JRC Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology that is recognized by the ARRT or by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB)
Preferred
Previous work experience in an academic medical center environment
3 + years of CT experience
Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or closely related field from an accredited program
