The Office of Addiction Services and Supports is dedicated to providing and overseeing addiction services with a focus on equity and respect. They are seeking a Motor Vehicle Operator responsible for transporting people and materials, as well as performing routine vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

May drive a variety of motor vehicles both on and off State property in order to transport people, material and equipment as required, and plow snow from roadways and parking lots
May map routes, itineraries and points of call
Move or carry cargo onto, into, off of, or out of the vehicle operated
Move or carry cargo from the vehicle to the delivery or storage point
Post manifests, inventories and other records of goods and people transported
Tend to the routine maintenance of vehicles operated in order to ensure that cargo is moved as required
Change oil and spark plugs
Change tires and washes vehicles
Pump gas and add water to radiator, oil to crankcase and air to the tires
Replace lamp bulbs
May operate and maintain motorized equipment in support of maintenance, grounds or building trades crews

Required

Candidates must possess a New York State Driver's License appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated
Candidates may be required to possess a CDL Class A, B, C or General Class D license
Prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs
Prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) that includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks
All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee's employment application may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment
Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information
Prospective employees may be required to pay any necessary fees
Prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR)
Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment
