Avionics Test Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop and run test procedures for avionics subsystems and components
Create and operate component-level and system-level test setups
Automate tests using scripting languages (e.g., Python)
Expand automated regression test coverage for new flight software versions
Interface with mechanical teams to support fixturing, harnessing, and integration tooling
Author and maintain Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for avionics hardware
Execute and document functional checkouts, environmental screening, and acceptance testing
Support troubleshooting efforts and root cause investigations on flight hardware and flatsat hardware
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and design-for-test initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
2+ years of professional experience in aerospace or electronics testing
Experience working with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, DAQ systems, etc.)
Familiarity with test automation tools and languages (e.g., Python)
Knowledge of avionics hardware and sensors
Strong understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, CAN, I2C)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder) in accordance with ITAR requirements

Preferred

Experience developing automated tests
Experience testing or integrating launch vehicles, spacecraft, or flight electronics
Proficiency with test documentation and version control tools (e.g., GitHub)
Hands-on knowledge of mechanical/electrical interface design (e.g., fixturing, harnessing, vibration testing)
Exposure to aerospace production environments and fast-paced test campaigns
Experience designing PCBs
Background in conducting sensor functional tests, leak checks, or channelization for avionics
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
