Aviation Military Analyst - Fort Rucker - On Site

Responsibilities

Coordinate with AVCOE Directorates, Brigade Commanders, ACMs, Program Managers (PMs), and other enterprise stakeholders to assist in the synchronization and updating of the Aviation Enterprise Common Operating Picture (COP)
Develop executive (2-4 Star level) briefings, speeches, talking points, and articles on Army Aviation operations, training, doctrine, and program management within TRADOC
Research and write speeches, presentations, congressional testimony, and articles for Army Aviation leadership, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and audience-appropriate tone
Conduct in-depth research on military strategy, operations, and policy to support executive communications and G5 planning efforts
Write clear, concise, and persuasive content across formats and forums
Participate in named Army Aviation forums and events, including General Officer Steering Committees (GOSC), Councils of Colonels, Aviation Senior Leader Forums, and Army Aviation Synchronization Meetings, to support DOTMLPF-P integration
Prepare detailed reports, information papers, executive summaries, presentations, handouts, and recommendations in accordance with G5 timelines and quality standards
Utilize frameworks such as the Aviation Enterprise Synchronization Model to interface with AVCOE leadership, HQDA, TRADOC, FORSCOM, AMCOM, AMC, PEO Aviation, CDID, USASOAC, and TAPO
Collaborate with senior leaders, agencies, and action officers across the Aviation Enterprise to ensure alignment of G5 plans with enterprise initiatives
Ensure proper dissemination of Warning Orders, Operation Orders, and Fragmentary Orders to appropriate AVCOE organizations
Represent the G5 in working groups and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) focused on DOTMLPF-P analysis, integration, and future planning
Coordinate and synchronize planning efforts across the Aviation Enterprise with Army Staff, AMCOM, PEO Aviation, USASOAC, and CDID
Liaise with Program Executive Officers (PEOs) on matters including fielding, training development, life-cycle support costs, and budget planning via PPBES, POMs, and UFRs
Maintain awareness of aviation-related transformation initiatives, modernization efforts, and emerging requirements to inform G5 planning
Support knowledge management and data tracking efforts to ensure accurate information sharing across the G5 section
Establish and maintain a Quality Control Program (QCP) to ensure the accuracy and consistency of all G5 deliverables
Track and report program management actions and financial management status in Monthly Status Reports

Required

MUST BE US CITIZEN AND CLEARABLE
BA/BS degree required
Minimum of 10 years of aviation experience as a senior planner or military analyst
Must have served in the Aviation Branch (Rotary or Fixed Wing) of the Active Army as a Commissioned Officer, or as a Senior Warrant Officer with relevant education and experience
Army and Aviation experience required
Experience developing 2-4 Star-level briefings, speeches, and publications for Army Aviation leadership
In-depth understanding of Army Aviation combat operations and doctrinal application across operational echelons, including enemy tactics and capabilities
Strong understanding of DOTMLPF-P assessments and Aviation operations
Familiarity with Aviation Transformation initiatives and the future direction of the branch
Expert-level research and executive communication skills
Ability to respond to high-priority, short-turn tasks with speed and accuracy
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Demonstrated success collaborating across functions in mission-oriented environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Candidates must already reside within a commutable distance to Fort Rucker, AL, or be willing to relocate at their own expense prior to the start date, as this position requires regular on-site support

Preferred

MA/MS degree a plus
PMP certification preferred
Previous service on AVCOE Staff strongly preferred
Experience serving on the Army or Joint Staff
