Infection Prevention Program Manager (On-site)

The Infection Prevention Program Manager (IPPM) is responsible for the operational management and implementation of the infection prevention program, ensuring compliance with regulations and overseeing infection prevention activities within the health system.

Responsibilities

Ensure that the activities of the hospital are in accordance with the Infection Prevention Plan, all regulations from regulatory bodies that include TJC, CDPH, CMS, and hospital policy
Participate in and coordinate all aspects of the Infection Prevention Program including surveillance, monitoring, prevention, and education on infection prevention activities within the NorthBay Health System
Serve as the 'point person' for all infection prevention activities and program implementation supported by the Infection Prevention staff
Help ensure that the facility’s patients, personnel, and visitors will be protected from transmission of disease and infection within the facility’s environment

Required

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required
Working knowledge of infection prevention/ epidemiology/TJC, Cal-OSHA with evidence of APIC EPI 101 course completion
Current AHA or equivalent certification in basic CPR required
Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
Minimum of 5 years of experience with 3 years of working in infection prevention or healthcare epidemiology in an acute care (hospital) setting
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Must possess high professional standards
Must be well organized, be able to set priorities, work independently and be an effective team member
Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Prefer California RN licensure but not required with relevant education and experience
Two years management experience preferred
Working knowledge of health care practices, data management, patient care equipment and products
Administration and optimization of Vigilanz or similar infection prevention surveillance software
