Diagnostic Technologist
Upstate Medical University is a Level 1 Trauma Center located at the Downtown Campus. The Diagnostic Technologist will perform radiographic examinations, ensure patient safety regarding radiation exposure, and maintain compliance with quality control and continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities
Perform radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists
Practice appropriate radiation safety and protection to assure that patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure
Areas include inpatient, outpatient, fluoroscopy, operating room, and emergency department
Adult and pediatric care (Golisano Children’s Hospital)
Verify physician orders for procedures as well as properly identifying patient
Performs all required quality control procedures
Maintains compliance with continuing education requirements
Qualification
Required
AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
NYS license/registration or eligible (must obtain within 6 months of limited permit)
ARRT (must obtain within 1 year of appointment)
Needs a Limited Permit by time of appointment if NYS License/Registration hasn't be obtained yet
CPR-BLS certification required at the time of appointment
Candidates who possess an A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license or eligible, and no experience will be considered for appointment to an entry level (SL1) position
