Responsibilities

Provides clinical support and/or operating room assistance under the supervision of a licensed physician

Works with a wide variety of healthcare professionals to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after procedures or surgery

Provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff by working in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) standards of practice and by adhering to MCHS policies/procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique

Surgical Technologist certificationBLS CertificationHealthcare experiencePatient careTeamwork

Required

Graduate of a surgical technologist program or military equivalent

BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required within three months of hire

May require additional specialty or department-specific certifications (where applicable)

Preferred

Two years' of healthcare experience

One year experience as Surgical Technologist

BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire

Surgical Technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Those without the certification are encouraged to complete continuing education credits equal to the requirements to maintain certification
