Responsibilities
This role provides strategic leadership, overseeing a team of business analysts and the work of developers and other IT professionals, ensuring that our technology initiatives align with our business objectives
The manager will assess technology needs, provide critical project intake input, and develop IT resources, ensuring data security and strategic computing
They will also interpret and develop organizational policies and procedures and stay updated with technological advances
This role is vital for risk management related to IT and for fostering collaboration with various stakeholders
The manager's participation in strategic planning teams will contribute significantly to agency technological integration plans
Assigning and reviewing the work of systems analysts, developers, and other computer-related workers
Directing daily operations of the department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines
Participating in tactical and strategic planning teams at the agency level
Meeting with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems
Developing and interpreting organizational goals, policies, and procedures
Analyzing and documenting high-level information requirements of the organization, planning and conducting risk assessment activities to define information technology risks faced by the organization, and developing, maintaining, and publicizing a plan for managing information technology positions and personnel
Consulting with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess technology needs and system requirements
Evaluating data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements
Reviewing and approving all systems charts and programs prior to implementation
Developing information technology resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery
Evaluating the organization's technology use and needs and recommending improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades
Managing backup, security, and user help systems
Qualification
Required
Strong leadership and team management skills
Proficiency in business analysis and project management methodologies
Strategic planning and resource allocation expertise
Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities
Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
7-10 years in business analysis with a minimum of 2 years direct supervisory experience
Bachelor's degree or 7 years of IT experience
Ability to commute to Topeka, KS 66603
Ability to relocate to Topeka, KS 66603 before starting work
