Global Compression Services is seeking a Field Service Technician I responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and electrical equipment. The role involves removing and installing parts, troubleshooting control systems, and understanding blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision

Install related wiring and bend conduit

Install, test and troubleshoot digital control systems on natural gas compressors

Use hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software to troubleshoot control systems

Understand basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions

Maintain basic working knowledge of engine and compressor lubrication systems

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form

Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems

A clean driving record and be at least 21 (for field vehicle assignment & operation)

May be required to pass a DOT physical, have or obtain MSHA certification, and other job-specific certifications as needed
