Riddell is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the implementation of new designs and technologies. The role involves collaborating with various technical teams to engineer IT solutions that enhance performance and efficiency, while managing system architecture and operational metrics.

Responsibilities

Support development and implementation of new processes within a large systems environment by advising on design concepts and implementation strategies

Coordinate with the system engineer team and development team to design effective solutions that meet requirements for functionality and integration with existing components

Research existing and emerging hardware and software technologies to determine capabilities and cost-benefit relationships, and develop ongoing computer systems solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements

Provides and maintains documentation of systems architecture and guidelines while updating documentation as required

Provide IT system metrics and monitor for operational issues such as system outages, hardware failures, power, or network outages

Manage SAN configuration and maintenance across all sites. Provide recommendations to the management team on data storage requirements and security

Provide guidance and standards for server builds to Windows engineers and Linux engineers as required

Seeks team input in determining system operation improvements and needs in relation to network, server, SAN, and security needs

Evaluate the efficiency of existing systems and develop plans for improvement based on findings

Required

Degree in computer science or related field and equivalent combination of education, training and related experience required

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Information Technology field with experience in related position responsibilities

Extensive systems management experience is required, including many of the specific technologies being employed by Microsoft Windows and Linux systems

Proficient with management and maintenance of VMWare in an enterprise environment

Extensive experience installing, operating, and maintaining test lab environments, supporting remote locations, and working on large technical projects

Maintain a strong teamwork environment with co-workers and maintain positive and effective working relationships with numerous departments and employees

Ability to maintain a high level of flexibility to learn and support new technologies and applications as required by business

Proficient with VMWare Software

Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field
