Office of the Auditor Master Internship (Unpaid)
USAJOBS is offering internships for students interested in gaining valuable experience in courts administration. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to the mission of the District of Columbia Courts while assisting in various legal and accounting tasks.

Responsibilities
Assist the auditor master in processing cases in the areas of probate, civil, tax and family law
Attend and participate in evidentiary hearings
Research legal problems and prepare memoranda for the auditor-master
Assist in resolving legal issues affecting the audit and stating of accounts
Assist in the preparation or reports, which includes findings of fact and conclusions of law
Preparing Accounts
Reviewing financial statements
Determining values of assets and liabilities
Identifying missing documentation
Reviewing federal and local tax filings
Qualification
Required
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized by United States Citizenship and Immigration Service to intern in the U.S and at least 18 years old
Must be at least 18 years old
Must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week
THIS INTERNSHIP IS FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE GRADUATED FROM AN ACCREDITED POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE OR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS (OR 6 YEARS OF VETERANS)
Law students must be enrolled in an accredited law school program
The student must be able to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week to track ABA credit hour requirements
Authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required
Background and security investigation are required
To qualify based on education, upload a copy of your college transcript or degree. The transcript must show the name of the college or university, your name, list of courses with credit hours, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking
Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for District of Columbia Courts employment
If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must upload a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript at time of application to receive credit for that education
Preferred
Preference will be given to students with majors in Political Science, Social Services, Finance & Accounting
