Responsibilities

You will install,, modify, maintain, and repair electrical systems, switching devices, distribution panels, generators, lighting/service panels as well as a wide variety of electrical fixtures, tools and appliances
You will report to management any and all repairs that need to be show attention and repairs that will require extensive labor and/ or material cost to complete
You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test, and adjust a variety of equipment, circuitry, and fixtures
You will test circuits and equipment for proper operation by using voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, and ohmmeters
You will measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits of various sizes and types to install, maintain, or repair electrical circuits or equipment
You will install or splice different sizes and types of wiring to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles, and power source

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
This is a Mission Essential position
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, and setting up tools, equipment, and parts that weight up to and occasionally over 40 pounds
This position requires the ability to climb ladders and scaffolds to perform work at various heights
This position is subject to work outside during prevailing weather conditions
You may be subject to falls, shocks, injury or discomfort during the work shift
Your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job
