CHILD DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS CLERK (OA)
USAJOBS is seeking a Child Development Operations Clerk to perform administrative and clerical duties in support of the Child and Youth Programs. The role involves assisting military and civilian personnel in balancing demands while accomplishing DoD mission goals.

Responsibilities
Directly assists the coordinator/director in the management of all administrative support program functions
Maintains files, databases, and records and utilizes a wide variety of multiple office automation software to produce final products
Provides Child Abuse and Force Protection measures
Computes, collects, records, and deposits fees for all child development center programs

Must successfully complete an SF-85 background investigation
If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement
This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
Must satisfactorily complete a physical examination upon hire and every three years thereafter; and keep current on all immunizations

The incumbent must have the ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM
The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid drivers license is required for the position
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours
IAW 34-144 and DoD Certification requirements, a pre-employment physical examination with a renewal at least every 3 years and specified immunizations are required
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program
Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
This position has been identified as having 'regular contact with children'. In accordance with (IAW) Public Law 101- 647 Section 231, Public Law 102 – 190, Section 1094, and DoD Instruction 1402.05, background checks are required
DD Form 2981 Basic Criminal History and Statement of Admission, Installation Records Check, FBI fingerprint and Tier 1 with a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) checks will be completed on any person selected for this position
Renewal every five years of the Installation Records, FBI Fingerprint and SCHR is required with annual review of DD Form 2981
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of the child development center programs and operations
Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys to produce a wide range of documents
Knowledge of basic arithmetic principles to make routine calculations
Knowledge of standard office equipment and office automation systems to perform a substantial range of office automation support
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and commonly used specialized terminology to prepare material correctly
Knowledge of a body of rules, procedures, or operations applicable to clerical assignments, such as preparing various routine correspondence/reports, maintaining files/records, and reviewing and processing mail
I have successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university
I have a combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of Child Development Center or Youth programs and procedures to perform duties such as provide information about CDC programs, provide customer support, prepare reports, etc
Knowledge of common clerical and administrative practices such as performing regular office routines, maintaining records, preparing purchase orders and ordering of supplies and equipment
Knowledge of filing systems and procedures, the materials covering the activities of the childcare centers and established resource planning procedures in the childcare environment
Skill in effectively communicating with a diverse population with various social, national, cultural, and occupational backgrounds
Ability to learn money handling techniques and analyze fee collection procedures
Ability to use various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, memos, reports, spreadsheets, database, and graphs
