Director, Customized Training Programs

Responsibilities
Conduct industry needs assessment as needed
Work with individual companies to establish state supported workforce development training projects that will help new businesses to establish their workforce or help existing businesses to expand their workforce
Work in conjunction with NC Community College System(NCCCS) office as a point of contact for CTP
Maintain a minimum of three Customized Training Projects (CTP) as possible
Provide monthly written report shared with President and Vice President of Instruction regarding industry engagement
Meet the expected metrics outlined in the service area outcomes, including the number of industry contracts, the number of training conducted annually, and maintaining a successful evaluation record
Offer an assortment of specialized training designed to affect numerous businesses within the service area of the community college. Focused Industry Training(FIT) dollars
Generate new leads for Work-Based Learning (WBL) internships
Coordinate summer externships for PCC faculty into workplace settings so they stay abreast of industry expectations
Convene interested apprenticeship companies and manage corresponding courses
Present on workforce development opportunities at PCC to workforce partners and at other events as needed
Assist with offering employer services such as career fairs, career support, recruiting and prescreening for employers
Participate in industry visits with Person and Caswell County Economic Development Commission as requested
Earn industry credentials to offer training to employers such as forklift
Knowledge of regional workforce trends that impact service area. Share workforce trends/needs with Deans, Vice Presidents, and President
Alert President's office of prospective industry changes
Meet with faculty, students, and industry partners on a regular basis
Answer calls, greet visitors, and direct communications appropriately
Data entry and record keeping: Maintaining WBL databases, entering data into spreadsheets or other software, and organizing files or records. This can include updating student information or assisting with registrations for WBL
Reviews and maintain documentation for audit reviews and ensure compliance
Support special projects: May be assigned to assist with specific projects or initiatives within the organization
Maintain confidentiality: May handle sensitive information, such as student records, financial data, or confidential information. It is important to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling such information
Maintain current sites available for WBL student opportunities
Ensure all documentation is compliant for state audit reports
Provide orientation and registration assistance
Track students who are nearing their WBL course timings and assisting with proactive planning and placement
Coordinate with Small Business Center Director to host events and discuss WBL opportunities for local small businesses
This position supervises and evaluates adjunct instructors needed for training purposes
Qualification
Required
Associate degree required from a regionally accredited institution
Valid driver's license
Knowledge of electronic forms
Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Good communication skills

Self-starter

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Two years of experience in business, education, or community-based organizations preferred
OSHA outreach trainer authorization preferred or willingness to obtain within one year
CPR instructor certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months
