PCB Electrical Designer
The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is a leading research institution focusing on defense science and technologies. They are seeking experienced PCB Electrical Designers and Technologists to provide electrical design support and mentor team members at their State College, PA location.
Responsibilities
Facilitating electrical design support, such as creating schematics, printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, bills of materials, and other documentation
Guiding and mentoring team members, offering insight and assisting their career goals with coaching conversations
Qualification
Required
Associate degree with at least eight years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree with at least six years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a supervisory level
Experience in ECAD software to develop schematics, printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, library parts, and bill of materials
Working knowledge of printed wiring board construction, fabrication, and assembly
Past success with project deliverables and team tracking
For supervisory roles, past success in leading or supervising teams
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply
Employment with the ARL will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
All positions at ARL require candidates to possess the ability to obtain a government security clearance
Preferred
Altium ECAD software
Siemens Teamcenter PLM software
Microsoft Office Product Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio
Significant knowledge of electrical systems such as power electronics, analog, digital, RF, and EMI
IPC CID and / or CID+ certification, or general knowledge of IPC standards
Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if required
