Assistant Director- Campus Visit Experiences
The University of Houston is seeking an Assistant Director for Campus Visit Experiences to direct an ongoing university program focused on recruitment and admissions. The role involves planning, developing, and administering strategies to meet program objectives, overseeing staff activities, and managing budgets while collaborating with various university constituents.

Responsibilities
Plans, develops and administers methods, strategies and procedures for meeting program objectives; directs and oversees the daily activities of staff members
Prepares and monitors the annual budget and ensures that expenditures are within budget allocation
Directs and coordinates personally, or through subordinate personnel, activities concerned with carrying out the objectives of the program
Directs the preparation of and reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objectives; modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attains objectives
Analyzes trends within program areas, maintaining expert awareness of program information and change needs
Formulates, implements, and maintains appropriate policies and procedures concerning program administration
Manages and administers grant for program, including meetings, communication coordination, scholarships and other operations
May prepare or participate in the preparation of proposals to obtain grants from state and federal agencies, and private foundation sponsors
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Collaborates with academic colleges and other university constituents to develop and implement coordinated recruitment services and objectives
Coordinates ongoing recruitment projects such as campus tours, mail-outs, phone campaigns and UH Ambassadors
Assesses customer service provided to students and makes recommendations for improvement
Plans, organizes and supervises university/college recruitment projects and events
Participates in the revision and maintenance of the policies and procedures for customer service procedures in the Office of Admissions
May prepare office publications and reports including newsletters, website updates, and office brochures, as well as budgets and statistical reports
Qualification
Required
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline
Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience
Service leadership skills including mutual respect, active listening, and responsiveness
Must be a multi-tasker, extremely organized, and have the ability to work in a face-paced, high-pressure environment, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies and procedures
Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external constituents
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Higher Education experience, especially in undergraduate admissions
Experience working in student information system/s, PeopleSoft preferred
