Responsibilities
Lead the Transmission Line Design Team, supporting growth through strategic hiring and mentorship
Prepare project proposals and assist in securing new work through client engagement and business development
Review and refine internal processes and procedures to enhance team performance and project outcomes
Deliver complete transmission line designs while guiding and mentoring junior engineers
Collaborate with electrical utilities to upgrade sub-transmission lines using fiber optic technology
Develop overhead transmission line designs with advanced proficiency in PLS-CADD
Conduct field surveys (in and out of state), assess structure integrity, ensure compliance with NESC and client clearance standards, and prepare construction and record documentation
Travel up to 15% for field work and site visits
Support additional responsibilities as needed, including temporary coverage of other roles
Demonstrate deep expertise in transmission design and a comprehensive understanding of the project lifecycle
Operate independently with minimal supervision
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required
5+ years of experience designing overhead and underground power lines, including PLS-CADD
Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Civil or Structural)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Valid driver's license for multi-state travel
Proficiency in Excel and ability to lead engineering meetings and client interactions
